The video can be seen as a moving painting, I wanted to investigate how smoke that is so universal, creates a kind of peace within us by just being so recognizable and yet unique; with the shifts in the scale, our perception of perspective is disturbed. The landscape formed by ash, branches, and scrap metal creates a kind of extraterrestrial panorama, which can either bring to mind a dreamy and soft place, or a gloomy and dystopian land. The boundary between these modes is thin and is affected by the viewer’s mood at the moment
